‘Well deserved’ is a phrase not used very often. At least that’s what I feel. It is more about ‘awesome’, ‘great’ and ‘fantastic’ nowadays. I like ‘well deserved’. That might have something to do with me being German and we tend to keep it factual (to use some cliché here). But I think ‘well deserved’ holds an essential truth to the quality of someone’s work and it is a testament to a person’s commitment. And this is ever more true when we talk about Sam Cash.

Sam was our first person on the ground in the UK, having joined us in 2019. He has built up our presence in London ever since and has established relationships with founders and the broader ecosystem in one of the key global hubs. That’s why we are happy to announce that Sam has been promoted to Partner and Managing Director at Project A Services UK Ltd!

Sam loves investing in product-led, consumer or bottom-up SaaS startups. He is particularly excited by web3, collaboration tools and fintech (Read also his pieces on our investments in voi and butter).

Sam was also instrumental in enabling Project A to partner with London based companies such as World Remit, Unmind and Electric Gamebox, amongst others. The London office has since grown to 5 people committed to bringing Project A’s operational approach to the UK.

He has written about technology entrepreneurship for TechCrunch, VentureBeat and occasionally shares his thoughts in his newsletter, Socratic Tech.

Prior to Project A, Sam was a Vice-President at betaworks, a New York based startup studio — where he co-founded Studios, a network of community spaces designed to facilitate startup creation amongst technologists, creators, entrepreneurs and investors. Previously, Sam was a Senior Associate at London based growth-stage venture capital firm Hedosophia. Sam started his career at Naya, a London based technology, media and telecoms investment fund. Sam was educated in London at UCL and the Lycee Francais Charles de Gaulle.
