Why we took our team of 100 to Tuscany

Last week the Project A team went on a trip to Tuscany to celebrate a big milestone: Project A has turned 5 years old! You are probably thinking we all went there to have strategy workshops and team building activities, but no, it was just about having fun together, as you will see below 🙂

From the beginning, Project A’s vision has been to empower the digital companies of tomorrow, and we do that by providing in-depth operational support to our ventures in addition to capital.

We believe that ongoing support in areas such as IT & Product, Marketing, or Business Intelligence, is essential for digital companies to succeed. And in the last five years our approach has proven to work.

With more than 40 investments, we’ve become an established player in Europe’s venture capital landscape, and we’ve successfully closed five exits for our portfolio companies, including Metrigo, Tirendo, Saatchi Art, Treatwell, and Minodes.

In 2017 we raised a second €140 million fund, which will allow us to further expand our portfolio, and we conducted a complete overhaul of our brand in-house to reflect our culture and values.

Of course, all of this wouldn’t be possible without the amazing team we have today. So, we decided to take three days to celebrate in style all we’ve accomplished in the last five years.

Tuscany time

Organizing a trip for hundred people is a lot of work, but it pays off. Amid wine tastings, bike tours, and CrossFit sessions, we all got to bond as a team. And we had a lot of fun together as you can see. :p

“As an operational VC, our team of 100 experts is our core asset. We’re very proud of our team and what we have reached together during the last five years. So we thought it was time to spend some time far away from daily business to celebrate our success together. And indeed, we all learned a lot about Italian cuisine and culture, but mainly about our colleagues.”

As one of the main organizers, I was extremely excited about planning the event, but at the same time felt a great responsibility. It was a pleasure to work together with my colleagues to make it happen and to enjoy the results of our achievement!

After three days of sun, good vibes, and a great closing party, everyone came back home safely, and some went the extra mile to get even more out of the trip. 🙂
